Marriage Enrichment Events

marriageFrom time to time, we sponsor marriage enrichment events – dinners and speakers. Stay tuned through the bulletin, Facebook and the e-newsletter to hear of upcoming opportunities.

FOCCUS Facilitators

FOCCUS is a pre-marriage inventory that couples take during the preparation process. They then sit down and discuss the results with a married couple who facilitates the conversation.

The parish is also in great need of FOCCUS facilitators. Offering engaged couples the gift of your experience as a married couple–whether you’ve been married for one or 20 years–is a rewarding and wonderful way to be a steward in the church. Contact Rev. Chris LeBlanc if you would like more information.

Resources for Married Couples

marriage2The United States Bishops, as part of their initiative to support strong marriages, offer a number of online resources on For Your Marriage.

Together for Life provides numerous articles and resources for engaged and newly married couples.

There are also a number of local resources available through the Family Ministries Office of the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Many couples find that Marriage Encounter is a great way to remember why they were married in the first place – and to strengthen their relationship. Local Marriage Encounter resources and retreats can be found here.

Retrouvaille is a program designed for marriages experiencing strains and troubles. These weekend retreats are structured to help couples begin to repair their relationship.

There are a variety of methods used to determine ovulation, which includes charting methods. Among them are:

You can register for sessions to learn one of these methods here.
